Comments about Prepac Deluxe Spinning 4-Sided Media Tower:
I don't know what to say. I cannot agree with the favorable reviews here. I purchased two of the MMS-1060 in maple and while the units are relatively easy to assemble and do perform the function they are supposed to perform, this has to be some of the cheapest, most disposable "furniture" I've ever seen. This unit makes my Sanus NFCDII look like it's heirloom quality. The veneers on the Prepac unit are wafer thin. The shelves are pressboard (not glass or solid wood). The base is about as cheap of a design as I could possibly imagine. I have two of these monstrosities sitting in my great room and I'm trying to figure out how to hide them.

This is a well-designed unit which holds a lot of CDs (about 900 in my case) in an 24" x 24" space. Instructions are, as usual, inadequate and in one case wrong, but it's not a difficult unit to assemble. There were a few scratches, but the unit is well-packed and the cover-up marker made the scratches barely noticable. The one serious flaw is the flimsy, plastic bearing used to rotate a very heavy unit. The bearing is not up to the job, the plastic rollers flatten and the unit difficult to turn. I took all my CDs out, purchased a heavy-duty Lazy Susan bearing (rated for 1000 pounds) from a local hardware for about [$] and replaced the plastic one (helps a lot if you have some construction ability and tools). The unit now works like a charm, rotates easily and provides very efficient storage. The manufacturer cut one corner too many. One star as is (the unit is barely functional); four stars with a new, heavy-duty, metal bearing. I would recommend to a friend only if he/she had tools and the ability to install a heavy-duty bearing

This is an awesome DVD cabinet. The amount of DVDs it can hold is still a wonder to me. There are only a couple problems I had with it, but as you can see, they weren't bad enough to lower my score. The first of these problems is that sometimes there's a part of the wood that's chipped off. They include a touch-up marker, though, so it covers up any nicks very nicely. The other slight problem is that you don't initially consider it to be a revolving piece of furniture when you plan for where it goes. Basically, you need an additional six inches or so on each side so it can spin freely. No biggie. Still, this is a huge amount of storage space in a small area and it's a great thing to put in the corner of a room (The place I usually find the most difficult to find furniture for). Definitely worth the buy!
Comments about Prepac Deluxe Spinning 4-Sided Media Tower:
Should meet most anyone's CD/DVD needs for many years except for the die hard movie collector who already has a huge collection of DVDs &/or CDs.
Due to square design, requires unit be moved away from wall. Unfortunately having round corners would mean either a larger unit or a smaller capacity...so it is pretty much optimized for this design.
Very easy to assemble with clear directions.
Would recommend for someone with a moderate sized collection of DVDs and CDs who wishes to organize and neatly display them.
