It is solid and sturdy, after you assemble it, have it where you want it, because it doesn't move easily. The drawers are extremely nice but one of mine doesn't work as well as the others. No problem. I love it. It is my primary bed and dresser. It leaves me room for my I-Joy chair and desk and reading area, rather than a chest or dresser. I purchased the Queen bed.

This is a nice product for the price. It's not hard to put together, just time consuming. You need 2 people to put together & a drill. It took my husband and I about 4 hours to put the bed and the headboard together. We, and our son, love the look of the bed. He doesn't need a dresser anymore because of the 6 drawers, so that gives him more space in his room. I recommend getting the headboard, it really makes the look of the bed. Don't know about durability because we just put together yesterday. Hopefully it will hold up.

We were not expecting "high end" with the price of this bed... and we read the comments that said "finish chips easily," so we were prepared to fill in with a permanent black marker. The biggest suprise was that when you place the bed up against the optional bookcase headboard... some of the bed's drawers would not open!!! We had to pull the bed away from the bookcase an inch or two to allow the drawers to open. Design flaw!!!

The piece was purchased as a guest bed, the storage space is great. The assembly of the drawers though are a little time consuming. Beveled or rounded edges should be considered for an easier time changing linen, the edges as is scrape your knuckles.
