
Born in Stuttgart in 1940, Hansjerg Maier-Aichen studied interior design in Wuppertal and painting at the state college of the visual arts in Munich. He created the brand Authentics in 1980, which won the European design award in 1997. He is a member of the German Design Council in Frankfurt and has been a professor at the Central St. Martins College of Art and Design since 1999.
