The Brooklyn Platform Bed is one of Atlantic's long-standing best sellers. Available in twin, full, queen and Eastern king sizes, it is constructed of solid hardwood with a mission-style headboard. Add optional under-bed storage drawers to provide even more convenient space. The Brooklyn Platform bed comes standard with bed with either a flat or raised panel footboard and one set of optional under-bed drawers; add another set of drawers for even more storage space!

After 30 years, a decline in latex production has made only tapping rubber trees for their sap uneconomic
Trees are removed by hand and replaced with new seedlings
In the past, felled rubber trees were either burnt on the spot or used as fuel for locomotive engines, brick firing or latex curing. The wood is now used in the manufacture of high-end furniture. It is valued for its dense grain, stability, attractive color and acceptance of different finishes.
It is also prized as an “environmentally friendly” wood, since it makes use of trees that have been cut down at the end of their latex-producing life cycle and are always replaced with new seedlings

Truck Freight Additional Information:

This product is too heavy/large to ship via the small package delivery services (e.g. UPS, FedEx) so it will be sent to you via truck freight. Truck freight is different than standard UPS, FedEx or US Mail in that you will be responsible for carrying the product from the back of the truck into your house (or wherever it's going).

The most important thing to remember about truck freight is that you MUST inspect the package at the time of delivery. If the box has any damage, or if there is any reason for you to be at all concerned about damage, please write "PRODUCT DAMAGED" clearly on the sheet that they ask you to sign. This simply insures that if there is any damage, it will be easy to take care of the problem.

If you are ordering a very large item, please keep in mind that you may need a couple of people to help unload it. Alternatively, most truck freight companies offer additional services to help you move items from the truck into your house. Once we email you the tracking information you can contact the shipper directly to inquire about additional services. You would be responsible for directly paying the truck freight carrier for any additional services.

We just got this today. My husband (a pretty handy guy) assembled it solo in 1.5 hours. Looks great for a kid. Drawer fronts have hand wells to pull drawers open. Drawer front ride up against side of bed so drawers cannot slip under bed. Big drawers! Seems sturdy and really good construction for price. Solid wood on all parts except floor of drawers- ok by me this means a deeper drawer. This product is the only one we've ever bought that came with wheels and pins and some hardware come pre-assembled! We would gladly buy another Atlantic product. I prefer the darker color, but we bought maple because it matched our current kid furniture. Good price. [...] Comes in 5 boxes for the configuration we bought- I could carry all of them myself and I'm 5'4 135#. I wish we had the footboard to keep my kids from playing under the bed, but oh well.... can't have it all. A great bed for the money, and we really looked at everything out there online!
