Argington - Picchu Dresser

The Picchu dresser is Argington's answer to meet the additional demands in the nursery. The dresser works well alone, but is even better in multiples. They can be vertically stacked to save space, or can work well side by side to provide great "out of sight" storage while providing counter top space for pictures, lamps, and the like.

Finding inspiration the world around, The Wonders Collection frames our global community at an approachable level. Each piece of furniture is named from one of the listed wonders of the world. We now have attached hangtags to each piece of furniture, featuring informational text and imagery of the namesake. Each hang-tag teaches the reader (mom and dad) and the listener (child) about the most fascinating and bewildering architecture and scientific phenomenon ever recorded. Rediscovered by Yale archaeologist Hiram Bigham in 1911, Machu Picchu is referred to as “The Lost City of the Incans.” Constructed around 1450 in Peru, Machu Picchu is thought to be a secret ceremonial city created by the Incans. It is also believed that the ancient city was used as an astronomical observatory to determine the precise dates of both equinoxes. Less than 100 years after the construction of Machu Picchu, the mountain top city was abandoned when the Spaniards took control over Cuzco in 1533. It is our wish to help bring a love of learning and sense of wonderment into the firm and tangible grounding of a child's home.
